Future Direction¶
The Subscrypts Telegram Bot already enables communities to run automated, on-chain subscriptions for Telegram groups. Looking ahead, the focus is on three main themes:
- Better UX for both group admins and members
- Deeper insight and control through analytics and operational tools
- Tighter alignment with the evolving Subscrypts smart contracts and ecosystem
This page outlines where the Telegram Bot is heading and how it fits into the broader Subscrypts roadmap.
1. UX Improvements for Admins & Members¶
Admin-side UX¶
Planned enhancements include:
-
Richer admin diagnostics
- More detailed setup wizards with step-by-step guidance
- Inline explanations when something is misconfigured
- Proactive suggestions based on group activity patterns
-
Enhanced migration tools
- Improved member discovery for large groups
- Better progress dashboards during migration
- Template announcements for communicating the transition to members
Member-side UX¶
On the member side, planned improvements focus on:
-
Smoother onboarding
- Clearer guidance for first-time crypto users
- Better error messages when wallet linking or subscription payments encounter issues
-
Mobile-optimized flows
- Shorter steps and better handling of mobile wallet interactions
- Improved deep linking between Telegram and subscription pages
2. Admin Observability & Analytics¶
As more communities adopt Subscrypts for Telegram, the need for visibility and reporting grows.
Planned capabilities¶
-
Subscriber analytics
- Active subscriber trends over time
- Churn indicators and renewal rates
- Revenue summaries per plan
-
Operational alerts
- Notifications when the bot encounters permission issues
- Alerts for unusual membership patterns (e.g., mass expirations)
These tools will help admins understand their community's health and make informed decisions about pricing, plan structure, and member communication.
3. Smart Contract Alignment¶
As new on-chain features are introduced in the Subscrypts smart contract suite, the Telegram Bot will be updated to expose them:
- Volume subscriptions — One subscription powering multiple group memberships (for teams or organizations)
- More flexible renewal models — Better handling of renewal failures and recovery flows
- Account abstraction — Exploring patterns to reduce friction for end-users (fewer gas-related errors)
- Enhanced event handling — More granular responses to on-chain events for faster membership updates
All such features follow the same path: design → security review → compliance assessment → staged rollout. Only once something is live on-chain will it be surfaced through the Telegram Bot.
4. Ecosystem Integration¶
Looking further ahead, the Telegram Bot will deepen its integration with the broader Subscrypts ecosystem:
- Cross-platform subscription dashboards — Unified views across Discord, Telegram, and other integrated platforms
- Tighter dApp integration — Direct links between the Telegram Bot and merchant dashboards in the Subscrypts dApp
- Complementary tools — Integration with Subscrypts Pulse for subscriber-side monitoring and notifications
Any such integrations will be designed to keep the blockchain as the single source of truth and to respect the non-custodial, privacy-preserving principles at the heart of Subscrypts.
